Experiences you'll have

Winter journey to Yakutia

“I was wearing thin trousers when I first stepped outside into – 47 °C (-52°F). I remember feeling like the cold was physically gripping my legs, the other surprise was that occasionally my saliva would freeze into needles that would prick my lips” — Amos Chapple, New Zealand-based photographer.

In a few days you'll plunge into a completely different reality and become a part of the ethno-expedition. You'll see and try "cold schticks" — the phenomenon is only possible at extremely low temperatures. You'll meet Evens herders, whose life is daily struggle for survival; learn their customs and mystical pagan rites.

Getting to Oymyakon isn't easy: we'll have a long journey, so we will wake up early and depart at 7 a.m.

Rout: Yakutsk – Khandyga village – the village of Oymyakon – Tomtor village – herd – Khandyga village – Yakutsk.

The price depends on the group size:
4-6 — 89 000 rubles
2-3 — 145 000 rubles

It's a tourist complex set inside the mountain where the throne-room of Chyskhaan — Yakut Lord of Coldness, the residence of Father Frost from Veliky Ustyug and chamber of Lord of the North, is located. You can also visit the unique showroom of ice sculptures called «Planet Yakutia». We also recommend that you visit the Museum of Permafrost: ice-run and ice bar are at your service.
